Associate Lawyer, Financial Services - Securitization

Our Client
Our client is a leading national full-service law firm recognized for its excellence, strong Canadian presence, and collaborative culture. The firm’s Financial Services group is seeking an Associate Lawyer to join its highly regarded Securitization & Structured Finance practice and contribute to a sophisticated transactional practice serving major financial institutions, investment funds, lenders, and corporate clients.
Responsibilities
- Advise financial institutions, investment funds, lenders, and corporate clients on a broad range of securitization & structured finance matters
- Support sophisticated securitization & structured finance transactions, including domestic and cross-border matters
- Assist with secured lending and capital markets transactions
- Draft, review, and negotiate transaction documents and related documentation
- Work directly with partners and clients on complex financial services matters
- Provide practical, business-focused legal advice
- Build client relationships and develop expertise in a specialized practice area
Qualifications
- 1 to 4 years of post-call experience
- Member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario
- Strong interest in developing a practice focused on securitization & structured finance
- Experience in secured lending, banking and finance or capital markets required; experience in securitization & structured finance or derivatives and related financial services matters is an asset but not required
- Experience handling sophisticated transactional matters in a law firm environment
- Strong drafting, transaction management, and analytical skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage files with increasing autonomy
- Strong client service orientation and collaborative mindset
The Ideal Candidate
- Strong technical training and experience in secured lending, banking and finance or capital markets
- Experience in securitization & structured finance or derivatives and related financial services matters is an asset but not required
